Volcanoes and National Parks
One of the most visited national parks, famous for its Canopy Tour inside the virgin forest and for the suspended bridges over the huge trees. The village within the national park is very touristic, with restaurants, shops and hotels.
The Arenal Volcano National Park
With its active volcano of 1,600 meters, is the preferred destination of most tourists, are excursions on its slopes on foot, horseback or quad, of course, incredible flora and fauna. From the slopes rise numerous waterways and spa where you can relax and admire the volcano view, in most of the hotels are the “Hot springs” pools fed by the warm waters of the volcano. A very relaxing place.
Numerous tours as a trip on the lake, canopy, waterfalls, shelters for butterflies, snakes, etc…
Rio Celeste - Tenorio Volcano
The Rio Celeste is located inside the Tenorio Volcano National Park, and the best thing to do is to walk through the jungle through the paths and wooden stairs to get to the observatory points or to get to the waterfall, or to the river itself. Its mysterious color is due to the presence of certain dissolved minerals particulars in its waters. The Rio Celeste is born from the encounter of two crystalline rivers, but then immediately changes color. Although this is only an optical, non-chemical phenomenon, the scenario is really quaint and unique.
Famous for its hot springs and hiking to the top (only for experts and with tourist guide).
Nacional Park Palo Verde
This park is famous for the great quantity and quality of species of migratory birds, an ideal place for bird watchers. It is accessed by car and it is possible to walk on some trails to enjoy spectacular views over the whole gulf of Nicoya or to take a boat and do a tour on the rivers inside the Park.
National Park Santa Rosa
The most virgin and pristine park of Costa Rica, named after the famous historical battle with neighboring Nicaragua.
